Diego Restuccia
Diego Restuccia is a Professor of Economics and a Canada Research Chair in Macroeconomics and Productivity at the University of Toronto in Canada, and a Research Associate at the NBER. In 2019 he received the Fellowship Award from the Bank of Canada.
Restuccia’s research lies at the intersection of macroeconomics, development, and labor economics. His recent work focuses on the role of resource allocation across firms or sectors in accounting for aggregate outcomes. His work has appeared in leading economic journals. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree from UCAB in Caracas (Venezuela). He was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) but grew up in Caracas. He lives in Toronto with his wife and son.
